hey!

omg I haven't written a blog entry since june 2007 or something. hahaha that's how exciting my life has been since then, i suppose. well.... i guess a couple of things have happened...:

for a start, we all became year 12's... v.v  and became exposed to the true suckiness of the sydney girls high school community. somehow, every time exam periods come around, i always end up feeling about 500000 times dumber than usual. cos when you get results back, and you get.. well, i got a 12.5/15 for a modern history speech. and i went to cooke and she was like, "yes, sarah.. so what do you think happened there?" in this voice like somebody had died, or as if i'd committed some unspeakable crime. yeh.. being at sghs is really great for your self esteem. and don't even get me started on the stupid ranking system. at scots, i know that they abolished the accursed ranking system, cos they felt that it put unnecessary pressure on the boys, and made them feel crap at something they possibly weren't crap at. but apparently our school is all for putitng unnecessary pressure on people, and making them feel crap at things that they're possibly not crap at. i bet all the teachers sit there and laugh at us. it could very well be their only form of entertainment.

and there is yet another reason to dislike all the juniors... all the year 7s and 8s learning how to do algebra, and how to gather like terms, and how the circle stands for degrees, and the line stands for minutes. i don't understand how we could have ever, ever complained about our school life as juniors. i really don't. but then again... one day i'll probably turn around and say "i don't understand how we could have ever, ever complained so much about year 12 and the hsc. i really don't."

but living in the present,  school is crap and i can't wait to leave.

and i can't actually remember all the stuff that's happened since june last year... um... people have gone on holidays to distant, faraway places such as melbourne and perth... most of us are scrounging for money cos we're broke... ummm... the ski season starts in about three months and i'm already looking forward to it xD  i've also had two failed relationships.. but that's about all you need to know about that.

jennyya and i went to a grammar versus sydney girls debate last nite, since i was invited by josh... it was actually pretty interesting. but the sad thing is, there were three supporters for each side. and one of the supporters for sghs was ordell. so basically, it was just jj and me. sad, right? and apparently it's always like that...  *sigh* poor debaters... and i thought rowing had bad support... >_>

and um... yeh..i've probably left out one or two big major events which've escaped through my sieve-like memory.. sorry v.v  all i remember about year 11 was that you could fail pretty much everything and it didn't matter. i failed both 3-unit math assessments, and one latin assessment, and i laughed about it. if i actually failed something now, i'd probably cry, kiss my uai goodbye, and then get over it cos there are more important things in life. -__- but my mother tells me i'm not meant to think like that. apparently she wants me to put every fibre of my being into my school exams. um, yah. not gonna happen. wait, no, she said that i needed to find a "balance". and her idea of a balance is having an hour of study for every hour of recreation, or something like that. when she told me, i was like, "you've gotta be kidding". i asked her once whether sleeping hours counted as recreational time, and she got really annoyed at me. our relationship has been kinda deteriorating lately... small issues turn into world wars. >_> anyways.

this year it seems like we're all living from exam period to exam period.... they're all so close together, you finish one set of exams, have a week or two to unwind and relax, and then you have to start preparing for the next set of exams. in junior years, you'd do your exams, and then spend whatever time was left in the term bludging around, taking random days off, playing cards under the table, and basically not paying attention to anything. *sigh* those were the days...

anyyways... i should probably go now. one of my mother's friends is coming over, and i'm expected to stick around and play the obedient daughter.
